13th Amendment – Slavery was banned in the United States
In order for Southern states to re-enter the Union, they had to:
let all adult men vote

14th Amendment – Granted citizenship and equal protection under the law to all persons born in the United States (Except Native Americans)
15th Amendment – protected the voting rights of African Americans. Citizens could not be stopped from voting based on race, color, or if they had been slaves.

African Americans faced many problems after being freed from slavery. 1) KKK 2) Homes/food 3) Sharecropping 4) Couldn’t find jobs 5) They were paid low wages.
